I tried to wish upon a star
they were your eyes
a twinkling light.
I made a promise to the sun
your warmth I felt,
the callous gone.
Although I do not know
it yet,
I hope your gentleness
touches mine.
I won’t say that I’m past
old grief
but I need to picture
a novel one.
I am not racing against fate,
I am befriending time.
I know not of your words
and your storms
but I’d give the world to learn you
and unlearn what’s gone.
I Reach for You
